It’s Bunnings time!

Team Red will be cooking up a storm at the Kangaroo Flat Bunnings Warehouse on Saturday June 15! A major fundraiser for our club, the Bunnings Warehouse barbeques are a vital source of funds to keep the Beavers going.

If you are able to help out for a few hours on the day, please let Peter Allan know by emailing him here. It’s a great opportunity to meet other Team Red members, while also contributing to the successful running of the Beavers Basketball Club.

Go Beavers!

Winter season!

The weather has turned… which in the world of Bendigo Domestic Basketball, means a few things.

Firstly, the winter season grading meetings are on the horizon and we’ll soon be into the season proper. For those seasoned campaigners amongst us, switching from the paper score sheets used during grading to the laptops and stadium scoring presents no problems. However, if you struggle with technology or are not familiar with the ins and outs of stadium scoring, click here to find out all about it! (scroll to the bottom of the page)

The second school term is also when we collect our annual club fees, used mostly to pay for training court hire and keep Team Red in the black! The $1 extra each week paid on game day certainly helps offset this cost, however the additional annual fee is required to make up the difference and also pay for ongoing club operating expenses. If they haven’t already, your team manager or coach will be arranging the collection of club fees in the coming weeks.

And finally, well done to our Beavers under 12’s, who recently had the opportunity to run out with the NBL1 Bendigo Braves! The boys also enjoyed courtside seating for the game. Awesome effort!

Go Team Red!

Finals Time!

It’s almost that time again! The 2018/19 Summer season is fast approaching finals, with less than two weeks of regular season games left to play!

To take part in finals, all players must play a minimum of 6 regular season games (in the one team). To check your eligibility click here.

Keep an eye on the fixture for your age group and division to see when you’re on court.  We all look forward to seeing Team Red well represented in the post season, good luck to all players, coaches and supporters! Go Beavers!

Bendigo Junior Classic

Happy New Year! Another festive season has come and gone! Everyone at Team Red wishes all players, coaches, parents and supporters all the very best for a positive and productive 2019!

The Bendigo Junior Classic, held over the Australia Day long weekend, is fast approaching…and we need your help! Every year, Beavers Basketball Club is responsible for managing games at Girton Stadium. Volunteers are required to help out over the 3 days to ensure games stay on time and also to sell water and drinks (with profits going back to the club).

A few hours of your time is all that is needed. If you’re able to help, please let Peter know here.

Good luck to all teams competing in the classic! Go Braves!

And don’t forget, the Bendigo Domestic Summer season will recommence at the start of February. To see when your team is next on court, click here!

BBA Basics

If you’re new to Bendigo Domestic Basketball, I’m sure you have questions. The inner workings and intricacies of the domestic basketball scene can, at times, seem confusing.

To help players, coaches and spectators understand the game, the Bendigo Basketball Association have developed a document outlining Basic BBA By-law Rules.

This document covers a variety of commonly questioned rules and regulations and is a great starting point for any new comers or a welcomed refresher for those who have been around a while. Click here to head over to the Bendigo Basketball website and check it out!

AGM take 2

After a late postponement last week, the AGM is back on!

The meeting will now be held on Wednesday, November 28 from 6pm in the Volleyball Room at the end of court 10.

Our club is built on volunteer work by a committed few and we are seeking new members to come on board to help ease the load! If this sounds like you, and you’re keen to get involved, please come along or email Peter Allan here if you are interested, but can’t attend. Many hands make light work!

Please also be aware that there are disruptions to the game fixtures over the coming weeks due to a table tennis tournament at the stadium. Check your fixture here to keep up to date.
