Club meeting

Passionate about basketball? Looking for a way to get more involved?

Beavers Basketball Club will be holding a club meeting next Thursday, June 29 from 7pm at Bendigo Stadium. We’re looking for more members to get involved and contribute to the running of our great club!

Come along and show your support! Meet fellow Team Red members and see how you can make a difference, as part of the off-court engine that keeps us motoring along!

A reminder also, that Beavers Club fees are due by Friday, June 30. Hand your collected fees to Peter Allan or drop them into the Bendigo Stadium Sports office in a clearly marked envelope – listing your team name, age group and division.

Go Beavers!

Do you BBQ?

Fancy flipping a few snags to help support Team Red?

The Beavers Basketball Club will be running the Bunnings Warehouse Epsom BBQ on Saturday August 12, with all funds raised going back into training court hire and annual club running costs.

This is our major fundraising event for the year, and is also a great opportunity to meet Beavers Basketball Club members and players from other teams!

Peter Allan will be looking for volunteers to help out on the day in late July/early August. Even if you are only available for an hour or two, get in touch here and show your support for Team Red!

‘Balls4All’

Beavers under 10 boys were recipients of 8 new basketballs recently as part of the Australian Sports Foundation and Spartan Sport’s ‘Balls4all’ program. ‘Balls4All’ is the biggest donation of free sporting goods to clubs, schools and organisations in Australian history, with almost 50,000 items available to clubs.

Spartan ambassador and former Australian Cricket captain, Michael Clarke urging all sports clubs to get involved.

“The initiative between Spartan Sports and the Australian Sports Foundation is about effecting positive social change. We want to encourage more adults and children to get outdoors and play a sport they can enjoy.”

Beavers Club Fees

In the coming weeks, we will begin collecting our annual club fees. Peter Allan, our club secretary and treasurer, will be sending out a collection sheet to representatives from every Beavers team. We suggest that the team coach delegates the job of collecting the fees to a parent with a child in that team. Please complete the fee collection before the end of the second school term (Friday, 30 June).

The fee is $25 per player; or if a family has 2 or more players in the Beavers Club then the maximum payment will be $50.

When all the fees have been collected either hand it on to Peter or place it in an envelope  clearly marked with ‘Beavers Club Fees’, your team name, age group and division and leave it at the Bendigo Stadium Sports Office for collection.

The largest expense the Beavers Basketball Club has is the cost of training court hire, the $1 extra that each player pays with their game fee each week goes toward this cost however this only covers a portion of the overall expense. To ensure that the club is able to maintain its financial viability and pay for all the courts that our teams use it is important that every player helps by paying the annual club fee.

The Beavers Basketball Club policy is to try and keep the costs of playing down to a reasonable amount, we collect the club fees at this time of the year because we feel that this will not be as big a burden as collecting the fee at the start of the school year.

If any of our club parents have any further questions regarding the club fees, please contact Peter Allan on 5443 9370 / 0419 394 783 or email him here.
