Finals fever

As the 2016 Winter competition comes to a close, it’s time to celebrate another fantastic season of domestic basketball!

Once again, Team Red was well represented with a number of teams making finals. Many going on to Grand final appearances and victories! Click here to see how your team fared.

WINTER SEASON GRAND FINALS

Under 12 boys 2 – Strathfieldsaye Magic 38 defeated Beavers Jets 18

Under 14 boys 2 – Beavers Bandits 42 defeated Girton Raiders 29

Under 14 boys 4 – Beavers Giants 18 defeated Aztec Black 7

Under 16 boys 2 – Beavers Roos 42 defeated Aztec White 33

Under 16 boys 5 – Beavers Stars 29 defeated Beavers Rockets 27

Under 16 girls 1 – Beavers Olympics 45 defeated Aztec Gold 23

Under 18/20 girls 3 – Beavers Red Rockets 21 defeated Strath Super Stars 14

And finally, BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Bendigo Braves who also enjoyed finals success taking out the SEABL National Championship with a stunning win over Mt Gambier. A number of Braves players also represent the Beavers Basketball Club at domestic level, and we are all extremely proud of their achievements! Well done boys!

Summer Season NOW OPEN!

Entries for the 2016/17 BBA Summer Season are now open! Get your team together and enter here!

If you are entering an existing team, you can find your team code here. Some existing teams will be moving up to another age group, so please be sure to check your eligibility before you enter your team. The BBA by-laws recommend that all players play in their correct age groups, click here to check which age group you are eligible for.

All Beavers players must wear the newer, sublimated playing tops for the 2016/17 Summer season and beyond. If you need a new singlet, please talk to your team manager or coach to order a new top now to avoid delay.

Hammer and Tongs

Are you gifted on the grill? Are you a first class flipper? Then we need your help!

Beavers Basketball Club will be manning the Bunnings Warehouse BBQ at the Epsom store from 9am until 4pm on Sunday, August 14. If you can spare two or three hours on this day, please email Peter Allan at secretary@beaversbasketball.com.au

This is one of our major fundraising events for the year, helping to offset the cost of training court hire as well as many other club expenses. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other Beavers members and players from other teams!

Even if you can only help out for an hour or two, email secretary@beaversbasketball.com.au and show your support for Team Red!

Download the Beavers clothing order form and once completed, either email it to admin@beaversbasketball.com.au or bring it along to the stadium forecourt 5pm-7pm, Wednesday, June 8 or Friday, June 10 to check your sizing and place an order.

Cash, credit card or EFTPOS is available. Delivery is estimated at 3-4 weeks from Monday 13th June.

Kelsey is coming!

Big News! Bendigo Spirit superstar, Kelsey Griffin will be attending Beavers Basketball Club training sessions in the coming weeks.

The two time Bendigo Spirit MVP will be attending sessions on the following days.

5.30pm – 6.30pm Monday, 30th May at Kangaroo Flat Primary School

4.30pm – 5.30pm Tuesday, 7th June at Kangaroo Flat Primary School

4.00pm – 5.00pm Wednesday, 8th June at Bendigo Stadium

6.00pm – 7.00pm Thursday, 16th June at Creek Street College.

A vital part of the Spirit roster, Kelsey has won two WNBL championships (2013 & 2014) picking up two WNBL Grand Final MVP awards along the way. She has made the WNBL All Star Five for the past two years and has also played WNBA basketball with the Conneticut Suns.

This is a fantastic opportunity for all teams involved to meet and learn from one of the best basketball players in the game today!
