The countdown is on!

There’s a little over a week to get your team entered into the Bendigo Basketball Association summer 2017/18 competition…time to get cracking! Entries close on Friday September 22 at 5pm. Click here to enter your team!

Coaches, team managers and anyone actively associated with a Beavers team also need to make sure they are registering their details with us (if you haven’t already done so) Click here and follow the prompts to add your details to our database.

This is part of our ongoing compliance to the newly formed Child Safety Policy, and the consequences of not maintaining a record of all persons involved in our teams, including their working with children card details, can be severe.

And finally, please remember that all athletes playing in the BBA Summer season will need to renew their insurance. Players cannot take the court without current insurance. BVC player insurance is $48 and is collected via credit card or direct debit as part of the process of joining your team. You can also pay at the Bendigo Stadium Sports Office for a total of $55. If you need any further information on this, contact the sports office.

Summer starts soon!

Winter finals are almost done! Once again, Team Red is well represented and enjoying plenty of finals success! Well done to all Beavers teams who are taking part!

After a short break, a new season will begin at the start of the fourth school term in early October. Don’t forget, age groups have changed for the Summer 2017/18 season, be sure to check that you are registering your team and/or players in the right age division here.

BBQ SUCCESS

Our Bunnings Warehouse barbecue has come and gone for another year. While the weather wasn’t great, it certainly didn’t effect our sales! This year’s event raised over $1,200 – a club record! (Must’ve been Don & Karla’s onions!)

A big thank you to all Team Red members who spent a few hours on Saturday working hard to support the club, and special thanks also to those behind the scenes that pull it all together!

A quick reminder also, there is a meeting from 7pm Wednesday, August 16 in the volleyball meeting room at the stadium (at the end of court 7) to discuss Summer season team entries. We need a representative from every team to attend to confirm our teams for the new season.

Summertime

As the weather begins to turn and the days grow longer, another summer basketball season approaches!

In preparation for new season entries, the Beavers Basketball club will hold a meeting from 7pm Wednesday August 16th to discuss our teams. With many players moving to new age divisions, it is important a representative from all of our teams attend to ensure every Beavers member has a team for the new season.

The meeting will be held in the Volleyball room (at the end of court 7) at Bendigo Stadium. Look forward to seeing you there!

If you need any further information, please email Peter here

Centre Stage

When he’s not pulling down boards in the under 16 division 1 ‘Bullets’ team, Kody Austin is treading the boards, as he prepares for a lead role in the Nexus Bendigo Youth Theatre’s production of Phantom of the Opera.

phan001

The Andrew Lloyd Webber masterpiece will be performed by a cast of 60 Nexus members, supported by many volunteers, all passionately committed to giving a stirring rendition of the iconic musical theatre staple.

Following on from headline shows including the Sound of Music, Oklahoma, The Pirates of Penzance, Music Man, The Wizard of Oz and Beauty and the Beast, Phantom presents another amazing opportunity for the cast to develop their skills within the arts.

The Nexus group is currently finalising rehearsals before taking to the Capital Theatre stage from Thursday July 27 until Saturday Aug 5. Visit the Capital Theatre website for tickets and more information.

Chookas, Kody, everyone at Team Red wishes you the very best!
